Great video! I had a mishap and part of the map sensor fell inside the plenum. It looks like it's a job just for the plenum. I wonder if I have to disconnect the fuel lines or drain the coolant just for the plenum. Anyone with any insight will be much appreciated.

How many wire connectors are on the coil pack module? 3 or 4? Not counting the 6 plug wires. At the throttle body and air intake hose is there a 4 pin connector that is not used. The reason I ask is after replacing the lifters, and injectors, my 04 century 3.1 will not start, I could find a wire going to the 3 pin connector at the drivers side coil assembly. Is there one? Also I have a 4 pin wire connector at the throttle body with a blue weather pack seal, that seems to go to nothing, there is no where to plug it in. Can anyone help?

I saw that you did not refill the cooling system with DEX. Can you comment on why? As soon as my replacement locator dowel pins get here I am ready to reassemble. My 06 Buick Terraza 3.5 project is complete head & intake manifold gasket set replacement. I hope this solves our overheating problem. Would you recommend using a 180 degree thermostat (we're in Southern Missouri) or stay with the original 195 degree? Hot weather AC cooling is needed more than needing heat.

My 2006 Buick terraza 3.5 tests for combustion gas in cooling system & overheats. I will be tearing down my engine to replace manifold gaskets & possibly head gaskets. I am likely replace all gaskets, as I lack confidence in the OEM'S & most of the work is already done by the time we are ready to do the intake manifold gaskets. I really appreciate your video, especially this with chapters. I feel confident I can DIY. I am just turning 80, so may not do it as fast as I would have years ago, but certainly not too difficult & I have plenty of free time. Great recreational project, & very expensive at a shop. I will be ordering the metal instead of plastic for sure.

I have the 3500 engine in my 2006 Buick terraza cxl. How much difference is it from the 3900 engine? Also, did GM also use plastic for HEAD gaskets? I test positive for combustion gas in my coolant system & was told a "blown head gasket or cracked cylinder". How likely is it that it's the intake manifold gasket instead? How much more has to be done to replace the head gaskets as long as it's already disassembled that far?

Front coolant ports on heads and gaskets are blocked off by the intake so this is why its almost always the back of engine where the thermostat housing is that it leaks on each head.I usually find both front coolant ports on both heads packed shut with old dex cool buildup., It isnt big deal because the intake blocks off them anyhow. The rear ports are where the coolant flows and leaks mostly at from gasket failures. I never remove injectors or the rails and leave them in place. They don't really need to be removed and cuts time both on disassembly and reassembly.Very easy job and most diy can complete this with minimum tools pretty much just a basic hand tool set , torque wrench and fuel disconnect. I always check radiator for buildup if i find front ports packed with dex cool and recommend cleaning or replacment.Usally are about same price to clean as they are to buy so usually replace as they are single row cores anyhow.best time to r/r tstat also while you have intake off.I find worst part it the power steering pump and its lines. best to just unconnected both lines from holders pull them out of their fitted path so you can pull p/s pump up and out to lay it toward water pump..and out of way. Some times you do have to remove to return hose to do this. Torque specs is your best friend here so invest in a torque wrench so you dont end up having to repeat this.

Excellent video. Great job. The others showed removal of front bumper. Your clip shows just unbolt front clip and lay forward to access necessary bolts. Life saver idea... Want to do this myself. Other videos looked to complicated, thought I would have to have my mechanic do the job and charge small fortune for extra labor to remove front clip.. Should have been engineered much easier. My old Pacifica. 2 bolts 2 minutes to replace... Thanks a million... Great job....

I watched about 5 videos on how to do this to confirm what I had already thought was possible, instead of ripping the whole front end off just to get to those 10mm bolts under the headlight assembly just remove the screws in the wheel well and the top of the cover assembly and peel it back. I am glad someone else didn't feel like laying under their van to access those push pins and deal with the fog lamps etc. I don't have access to a lift to access the bottom of my van very well and odds are I'll be doing this work on the road, I really don't feel like getting ran over. Great video, glad there is some heavier music involved if it was elevator music I would have fallen asleep. Sounds like from the other comments the saying " If it's too loud your too old" comes in to play! Rock on!!🤘
